Have you ever really listened to some of the commercials advertising some of these medications on tv? I have paid more attention lately, not sure why, but just listen and you hear all these possible side effects to the point where you actually forget what the medication was treating in the first place. At that point, I guess you have to decide if you want a possible 20 more problems to get rid of the 1 you have. May cause dizziness, may cause weird dreams (define weird, all my dreams are weird), may cause accelerated heartbeat, may cause fainting, may cause constipation, diahrea (make up your mind, which one is it?) and good grief the list goes on and on.
So I am thinking, ok what was that pill for? I know there are some people who just aren't good at math. But it adds up to more problems. I guess the disclaimer is "may cause" all this stuff, but there may be a pills for that too.
I guess I just don't get it, so I am thinking, do we just need healthier lab rats? Maybe they should just wait until the medication has proved itself and it doesn't cause more problems. Fine tune that hummer a tad before releasing it on the public. Or at least give a death report about how many laboratory rats died in the testing process. After, say, 50 rats, if there is one left standing, then pronounce it ready for the public. Or go a step further and make sure no rats died taking the medication and had no apparent side effects.
Is that too much to ask? Oh and another question, how can you tell a rat had a bad dream?
