If you haven't been to this place for lunch yet, you need to. This isn't one of those quick meal places where you jump in, swallow and bolt. This is an experience! I went a few weeks back with Sonya and a client/friend and we sat and sat and sat. The food is great and it has so much atmosphere, you forget where you are. I really felt I had left town and was in Branson or somewhere like Eureka Springs, AR, one of my favorite places.
I think I had quiche and soup and it included little muffins and fruit. It was all good. The tea was served with it's own tea light warmer. It was just neat. Not a hamburger place. A place to take your friends though and enjoy actually eating lunch and spending some time visiting.
I am blown away by the decorating. I love to decorate myself and I appreciate the details Cathy has put into the place. The little fake wall with windows that serves as a station for the waitresses, is so cute. The Victorian decor is well done, not over done. It was just enjoyable.
I think I probably appreciated the transformation into the tea room more than anyone as my office use to be in that building for awhile. Then daughter Penny, had a little retail shop in there for awhile. It is remarkable what all they have done to make it into the tea room it is today.
You have got to stop in there sometime for lunch. Decide to take better care of yourself this new year and treat yourself to lunch at Catherine's Tea Room.
The business hours are Wed, Thurs, Fri from 11-2. Check it out.
It is also available for private parties. You can reach Cathy at 620-896-2655.
