Good idea or bad idea? In my opinion it is a bad idea. If you are wanting to sell your property and it is market ready (I'll help you define that) then it is always a good time to sell. I will admit that summer is the busiest time for buying and selling, but I closed two transactions (sold two properties) last year on Christmas week. So having said that, it is ALWAYS time to sell your house.

From personal experience, when I was contemplating a different home, I always got in the home shopping mood during Fall. Because I love Fall and the weather is great, properties don't always look their best in fall and winter because yards are dead, flowers are gone and trees are not in all their glory either, but at that time, you can actually see the exterior of the house and you aren't falling in love with the landscaping. Landscaping is an easy fix.
