Your Talking House...

I am not a "house whisperer" but your house does talk. It is talking to you right now but you might not want to listen. So, it talks to strangers. Those people who come into your house to view it for a possible purchase. It may be saying terrible things to your potential buyers.

Your house may have great curb appeal, but when people come inside it may talk a whole different language. If you have your house on the market, what do you think it is telling people? If your house is cluttered, it is telling your potential buyer "I am not big enough for these people and won't be big enough for you. There is no room for anything!"

If your house is outdated, it may be telling your potential buyer "Not only is my kitchen old and inefficient, there is a good chance my owner hasn't kept up with anything else either, such as needed repairs and maintenance."

If your house is littered with your special collections, it may be telling your potential buyers, "We goof off all the time and shop on Ebay every chance we get, we don't deep clean, we just shop."

If your house is anything but a neutral palate, your house is telling them "we have strange tastes and if you have strange tastes you will love this place." Who wants to admit they have strange taste?

Yes, your house is talking to strangers and it is telling all of your secrets. It is like a kindergarden child telling the teacher all the secrets you wish he or she just wouldn't share.

You need to listen to your house. It is trying to tell you something. You may be the last one to know.
