In a word, yes. The media has dictated retail sales and home sales for years. When I owned my gift shop, Country Blessings, I always shuddered when I would hear on the news, even before the big Christmas rush, that "retail sales would be down this year". And each year, even with the bad forecast, I would have record sales. Why?
Because what my shop did, is what my shop did. It didn't matter if nationally, it was projected that retail sales would be down, I still conducted business as usual. The same goes for real estate. Real estate is local and like I say, real estate is good, locally. It doesn't matter who says that nationally, sales are down. My sales are up. Figure that one out? 2008 has been my best year in business.
Yes, if you are thinking of moving up, moving over, or moving down or sideways, the market is good in my area and I will be excited to help you in your transaction. I also know that 2009 will be yet another good year to buy and sell real estate.
I hate to tell you the truth, but somebody's got to do it.
